ARCHITECTURAL AND INTERIOR DESIGNER
Building a House? Renovating a House? Laura Scariano can draw up your plans for your project for a reasonable price. She will design the floor plan and provide a framing plan, elevations and lighting layout for you to get your building permit. If you would also like a furniture plan and custom designed cabinetry and furniture, she can provide you with detailed drawings for your woodworker.
Laura Scariano has over roughly 20 years of experience in the construction industry. She currently lives in New Orleans and works as an Architectural and Interior Designer. She can partner with a licensed architect or structural engineer to provide you with design, bid and permit sets to complete your projects for you.
Her past work experience ranges from designing interiors, branded environments and furniture, while also managing construction projects for designers and prestigious clients mostly throughout the greater New York City area. She also worked for international, cutting-edge engineering firm ARUP in Germany's Berlin office and returned to NYC from Berlin in 2011.
Laura originally arrived in NYC in 1999 to temporarily work for acclaimed painter of pears and master woodworker Peter Dechar in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn. In 2000 Laura started working for Michael Goldman Architect, where she learned design discipline, order and proportions for more traditional residential architecture. The majority of the projects were wood framed new construction homes.
A great deal of Laura's project management and decorating experience was then acquired while working for designer and owner's rep Corey Delany. Laura worked as a Senior Designer and Project Manager for branded environments guru Paul Bennett. After working for Paul, Laura returned to New Orleans to participate in post-Katrina reconstruction before embarking upon a new journey to Berlin. Laura returned to NYC in 2011. Until 2015 Laura worked with Keith Strand on his various historic townhouse projects and commercial renovations for companies such as Vevo and Universal Music Group. Since returning home to New Orleans in 2015, Laura has worked for Mouton Long and Turner Architects and CBD Architects.
